Skincare Awareness Month

Skincare Awareness Month

September is Skincare Awareness Month!! So, REPEAT after me skincare DOES NOT have to be complicated if you don't want it to be.

This month is not about seeking out all new skincare products to buy, but a great opportunity to learn more about what YOUR unique skin type is and the skincare products needed in order to best support your overall skin goals.

The best place to start when looking at whether your skincare is still serving your needs and goals is to better understand each individual skincare product in your routine.

Here are 5 easy steps to get you started…

Step 1: Pull out ALL of your skincare products and mini testers out of your bathroom vanity.

Step 2: Get rid of anything you haven’t used in 12 months.

Step 3: Wash you face and leave it alone for 30 mins and then look at your skin in the mirror to better understand your true skin type.

Step 4: Evaluate each of your skincare products to see if they match up to your skin type (Dry, Oily, Combination, Normal) and skin concerns, (i.e. Pigmentation, Acne, Fine Lines).

Step 5: Check in with your Skin Mindset!? This means checking in with your daily thoughts and statements you make about your skin, (i.e. “I look so old”, “my skin is ALWAYS dry”, “I have hormonal acne”).  These are extremely powerful declarations and can literally turn off the skin’s ability to healing and see change, because your brain has no idea of what is real or wrong, so let’s tell it what you DO want.

You are 100% able to make the changes you want to see in YOUR skin!

Ultimately, I suggest you plan out some time this month to simplify your skincare routine and turn the selfcare practice of purchasing a product to speaking kindly to yourself and realize the more love and appreciation you give your skin the better the results!!! Best part is, this costs you NOTHING!
